The Collection

Our botanical prints are limited edition giclee prints with an edition size of 50 prints per painting, printed on archival standard Somerset Enhanced Velvet paper by our Master printer. Each print has been hand-numbered and embossed by the publisher and signed by the artist. They are mounted in bespoke hand-made textured white double reverse cut mounts.

Every collection also includes a matching leaf lapel pin, designed by Michael Michaud. Just as the paintings depict every miniscule facet of the plants, our pins capture the beauty and exquisite detail of nature using soft patinas on bronze. Our unique jewellery is made by creating moulds directly from botanical elements, reproducing them as wearable art that can be purchased in the most prestigious museums in the world.

The Artist

Austrian born botanical artist Isabel Mischka has captured four of Michael’s iconic jewellery collections – Raspberry, Orange, Hydrangea and Rose – in the most intricate botanical watercolour paintings.

With a background in fine art and a diploma in botanical illustration from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Isabel is the perfect artist to epitomise our love for botany. Her striving for a realistic depiction of the subject, intense colour and a maximum of detail is clearly visible in the four stunning illustrations – a true blend of art and science. She is a Fellow Member of the Society of Botanical Artists (UK) and a Member of the Vienna School of Botanical Illustrations. Her RBGE final year collection of Cucurbitaceae was awarded The James and Eve Bennett trust award 2020.

Isabel’s outstanding paintings are based on a love of nature that was nurtured from a young age. Capturing the beauty and character of each plant takes many weeks as she layers numerous thin, transparent washes of colour followed by working with tiny brushes to reproduce every miniscule detail.

Botanical Jewellery by Michael Michaud

The Michael Michaud Jewellery Collection, designed by Michael Michaud, is a world renowned collection of botanical jewellery. It captures the beauty and exquisite detail of nature using soft patinas on bronze accented with pearls, beads, glass and semi-precious stones. His exacting attention to detail gives you true to nature, botanical jewellery.

About our Jewellery

Our unique jewellery is made by creating moulds directly from botanical elements in a process similar to lost-wax casting. While traditional lost-wax casting begins with a hand-carved model of wax, Michael Michaud uses an actual leaf, branch or flower in place of the wax model. A mould is created around the botanical element and as it is heated the plant matter burns away and leaves behind a beautifully detailed mould of itself.

Michael Michaud

Artist Michael Michaud attended the Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious school for American craftsmen, where he studied under designers Hans Christenson and Gary Griffin and became a master in the creation and manipulation of moulds. After graduating in 1980, Michael Michaud continued to perfect his craft while working under jewellery designers in the New York City area.

In 1991, he found himself working in New York City's flower district and living in the beautiful Connecticut countryside - his love of the natural beauty that surrounded him began to blend with his passion for creating jewellery which lead to the birth of Michael Michaud Jewellery.
