Grape Vines are each a member of the genus Vitis which has about 60 species. The plants are woody deciduous vines with tendrils that can wrap around a structure to support the plant. The plant produces clusters of grapes that are mainly cultivated for wine which has a rich history dating back thousands of years. The magic of wine making is due to the careful management of grape vines as they go through their season. The wine-maker strives to control the vigour of the grape vine producing small ripened grapes that are full of flavour.
