Blackcurrant is a small shrub growing to 1 to 2 meters tall. The fruit is an edible berry, very dark purple to black in colour. During WW II fruits rich in Vitamin C like oranges, became almost impossible to obtain in the UK. As Blackcurrant berries are a rich source of Vitamin C, and the climate for growing them is excellent, the government encouraged cultivation and it gave rise to the everlasting popularity of blackcurrants there. Today they’re a favourite in jellies, syrups, cordials and in cooking for sauces and desserts.

The collection is licensed by the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, U.S.A.

Materials: The Blackcurrant earrings are cast in hand patinated bronze and accented with black lava beads. The wires are 925 silver.
