Almond Blossom Earrings - Flower Wire Drop

Almond Blossom Earrings - Flower Wire Drop

Picturesque images of Almond Blossoms have appeared in several paintings made in 1888 and 1890 by Vincent van Gogh in Arles and Saint-Rémy, southern France. When van Gogh moved to Provence, he was looking for a brilliance and light that would wash out detail and simplify forms, reducing the world around him to the sort of pattern he admired in Japanese woodblocks. Arles, he said, was "the Japan of the South". Inspired by the works of great Japanese artists, such as Hiroshige, van Gogh started painting flowering trees. To him, they were special as they represented awakening and hope.

Materials: The Almond Blossom earrings are cast in hand patinated bronze with flowers featuring a matte white silver finish over bronze with yellow rice pearls. The wires are 925 Sterling Silver.
